As a regional College, Cumberland College offers a variety of programs and courses that provide a great number of opportunities for adults in the community. The College will arrange for courses and programs in areas where there is a demand for them throughout the district. Credit courses are offered via distance, online and face-to-face from the University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina, SIAST and a number of other sources and are available in the neighbouring community of Nipawin.

Carrot River Elementary School offers primary education programs in Kindergarten to Grade 4.   The Carrot River Elementary School also includes a large playground area and play equipment, outdoor ice skating rink and a large gymnasium.

The Carrot River Jr./Sr. High School offers a first rate secondary education and athletics program in Grades 5 to 12. In addition, a pre-school program for children three to five years old is coordinated by a volunteer committee and operated in the school. The School has large grounds featuring a track for track and field events, a football park and program, an exercise and weight room and operates other sports including curling, volleyball, basketball and badminton. The Carrot River Jr./Sr. High School has a long history of regularly having students receive high academic honors such as the Governor-Generals Award. Both schools feature extensive libraries, which complement the Wapiti Regional Library, located on Main Street.
